3 tricks to drink more water

We all know we are supposed to drink more water , right?  But sometimes it can be a bit difficult. This article discusses 3 tricks I have found helpful in drinking more water every day.

1.       Water Quality and flavoring.  I find myself drinking a lot more water if it is good quality spring water.  Even filtered water from the tap, tastes gross to me now.  I also love adding essential oils to my water to flavor them. My favorites are grapefruit, lemon and tangerine essential oils.  Be very careful that you only use an essential oil with a supplement label that says it may be ingested. Many essential oil brands are for topical use only. I personally choose Young Living essential oils. You can also buy water flavorings at any grocery store.  Be aware that those may contain dyes and artificial sweeteners.  Another idea is adding fresh fruit to your water and let it infuse the water.

2.       Grab a Water bottle.  I have a glass sports water bottle (so I can add my essential oils since they cannot be added to any plastic water bottle) and keeping it with me, helps remind me to drink the water. Out of sight, out of mind.  Another idea is to fill a pitcher with the amount of water you want to drink for the day and do not allow yourself to drink any other beverages before you finish the water. I do this with my kids.

3.       Reminder APP. Yep, there is an app for that. There are several apps out there that will send a reminder to tell you to drink your water.   The two I found , as of this writing, are Waterlogged and Aqualert.  Many of the fitness apps also incorporate hydration into the app.
