Homemade Outdoor Spray

DIY outdoor spray using essential oils. Years ago, when I was an emergency room nurse I decided I would never put DEET on my kids. I saw several clients come in with terrible rashes and some with neurological side effects. Over the years I have tried many non-deet remedies: skin so soft, vitamin b1 patches, citronella arm bands and some over the counter deet free insect sprays. Some worked better than others but I was never 100% happy. Fast forward to essential oils. I’ve been able to tackle TEXAS SIZED mosquitos with this blend and I feel safe dousing my kids in this mixture.
This is the insect away recipe I use:
2 ounce spray bottle
10 drops each: Purification oil, lemongrass oil, gentle baby oil
Pinch of Epsom salt
Fill the container with Distilled Water
Mix and Viola

I have friends who like this bug away recipe:
4 ounce spray bottle
Fill halfway with distilled water then the other half (almost to top) with witch hazel
10-15 drops each: Purification oil, citronella oil, lemongrass oil, melalueca oil and lavender oil
Mix
